With music, people tend to like what’s familiar. That’s why so many people stick to the music they listened to in high school and college.
I don’t really want a never-ending supply of new music I’ve never heard before. I already have that with the decades of human-made music that I haven’t heard yet. I want music that I know and love. Yes, new stuff still does enter the rotation, but “infinite personal music” just sounds like something for people who only want background noise… in which case any music will do.
