i get that a lot of these people out here using llms, especially if you go to places like twitter dot com, want to live in this fantasy world where everything just works perfectly, and you can manifest things with the touch of a prompt.
you know the “when AGI hits,” “okay, this is agi” people. not only will this result in people being less grounded in terms of actually understanding of the output, but they’ll lose the ability altogether. this leaves the source of truth as something we don’t even understand as humans. not a good look. i’ve also been seeing a lot of senior engineers talk about how X big company is literally forcing everyone to babysit llms and ship code that is inherently flawed without examination purely for speed. most of these are not cheerful posts, they’re primarily about how soul sucking it is. “i read the code” cannot be a controversial take in the current year. “am i taking crazy pills, i feel like i’m talking crazy pills”

Doubt this submission will get anywhere, but you're hardly alone in this frustration/worry.
I hope the LLM-ping-pong approach leads to terrible outcomes that people recognize and recoil from, as opposed to terrible outcomes they can't recognize--or where all the damage falls on other people.
