people love adding features while ignoring the dumb little bugs everyone already works around

The nastiest bugs are usually hiding in the “tiny” changes. A one line fix can alter a dependency edge, invalidate some assumption downstream, or turn a cold path into a hot one. Measuring that blast radius before shipping is where things get useful.
