i tried something like this before but it ended up with v big wait times how can you tune the memory management aggressiveness?

You've got lots of control over how much memory to reserve, how many concurrent jobs (of each job category), etc. It also models your jobs' actual usage so it can allocate memory more efficiently next time they run.
